Hi, I’m Chris Butler, aka Isoban.

My career in art and design began around 1980, when I found a bright blue ballpoint pen and, in the pages of my family’s collection of World Book Encyclopedia, decided confidently that my favorite entry…”Tornados” in the “T” volume…needed a good deal more pictures of Batman filling up the margins.   My family probably assumed this was a phase.

They were spectacularly wrong.

I’ve been a career graphic designer and illustrator for 19 years, with 15 as a senior graphic designer with one of the world’s oldest and most iconic apparel brands, Fruit of the Loom.  During that time,  I had the pleasure of working on collaborative projects with talented people, companies, and brands from around the nation and the world, both in my role at FOTL, INC and on my own as an independent designer & illustrator.

My work has been seen in magazines, on television & film, and on many, many t-shirts…and on quite a lot of underwear.

I’m happy to report that I no longer restrict myself to drawing in encyclopedias.  Well, not only, anyway.

In addition to my graphic art & illustration work, I’m also currently proud to be Director of Art & Design for Vid Monster Productions, a video & creative studio in Bowling Green, KY.

Whats up with the name “Isoban”?

When I was first starting out as an illustrator, there was already a very talented and prominent “Chris Butler” out there doing his thing long before I came along. I began signing my work “Isoban” after a name in a short story I wrote.

Over time, it just kind of stuck.

Give me a shout!
